    washing hands is cold now

At work, our hot water went out for weeks on end. No one that could fix it seemed to give a shit. But our company is super high on “safety first” so I reported a safety concern that i over heard people weren’t washing their hands because the water was too cold. And honestly, it was almost painful to wash your hands with how cold it was.

We got a written plan for fixing/replacing and what bathrooms to use if you needed warm water by the next morning. And they actually executed to the plan.

What is it about “work that just isn’t my work” that makes it so fun?

Is it the change of pace you think? Sometimes I take a break from my job to simply roam the office and count stuff that needs resupply, or push in people’s chairs.

I think it’s the drop of responsibility too. You get to drop your usual oned and because you’re doing something you don’t normally do, there’s less stress if something goes wrong. It’s like a nice little holiday.
