It doesn’t matter what kind of person he is if he created masterpieces such as Jim and Neverhood. I love what he did, not himself, and his personal life is not my business.

I thought that up until he started to directly attack the LGBTQ community.

I don’t care what someone’s beliefs are - unless they start to harm other people.

If you give money to people who stand for values opposite to yours, you’re essentially financing a world where there’s no room for you.

It is necessary to distinguish between areas of importance(/value). I can financially support the art of any person, while hating him for something else. It’s normal and right to divide, to differentiate things. Otherwise, nothing will happen just because there are no perfect people that none of the billions could complain about.

you can choose to not engage with art that you dislike for any reason. but not everyone is you.

and quite frankly, you’re being extremely dramatic. no human is ever pure evil or pure good.

that’s not how life works. this isn’t a fantasy world.

this is how it is for most people, honestly. if someone can separate art from artist, I think that’s fine. i have had to do it in my life as well.

i love the ender’s game series. but orson scott card is absolute human trash. it doesn’t take away from my feelings toward the works, though.

i wish nuance would come back. everything is so black and white now. “you like this artist’s work? then you’re evil.”

that’s sadly the world we live in now.

        In most I agree.

that’s sadly the world we live in now.

I live in another world where people think more and respect other people and themselves more, and do not allow any random terrible event to take away from them what they had — e.g. music, art, games, books, Harry Potter, you know.

You can love a piece of art without funding its creator or promoting it. No is saying you have to loath the art, but you also don’t have to publicly celebrate it (promoting it) or spend your money in a way that feeds a creator who is calling for harm against others.

Same dude if I wasn’t able to separate the artist from the art the only thing left to watch or read would be Sesame Street and Mr Rogers neighborhood.

Its like the shitty person wins twice. They did whatever fucked up thing they did and took away the ability to enjoy something you love.

      Fuck that.
