I was watching the Blacklist (starring James Spader), they’ve aired S7 E19: The Kazanjian Brothers in the midst of a pandemic back in 2020 (during production, they can’t film at some sets at the time when COVID was still relevant (understandable) so there’s a disclaimer at the start of this particular episode, those parts will be animated with voice overs from the actors, however the animated segments are horrible with crappy lip sync.

There were scenes where live action parts were filmed, at times had to work remotely with actors recording their lines linking those with their animated avatars (live filming was halted at the time). The narration opted for a combined approach of using both live action (for parts they managed to record prior) and graphic novel style animation (for parts that can’t be recorded on location due to the temporary closure of the set).

I’ve hate-watched the entirety of Foundation and the first two seasons were plain awful. Specifically all the combat/fight scenes, just dumb. The green screen to prop integration suuuucks and the story itself is lazy and predictable. The acting is okay but nothing to get excited about.

    S3 got better.

    Dark Matter also sucks.

The worst thing about Foundation is the Foundation.

The Empire story is 10/10, but the Foundation story is passable at best. The Empire story gets better and better, and season three was amazing.

If the show were more popular someone probably would have made a supercut of just Empire stories and it would be amazing.
