    In technology, we are constantly being beaten about resiliency. Two of everything. Two locations.

    However, we never do two providers. There are services that overlay the control of different cloud providers to create what appears to be a single platform. Maybe those will become more popular if aws continues to be a target.

      Managing infrastructure already sucks ass on AWS; i can’t imagine using another abstraction layer on top that has to account for the “quirks” of that and other cloud providers

      my last workplace used the top three cloud providers, though mostly because it helped with sales since customers on Azure wouldn’t necessarily have to deal with AWS stuff (even if we really preferred to touch Azure)

      it was a huge pain in a lot of ways, but manageable, and downright smart to not be at the mercy of just AWS or GCP
