    The way I read it is they are banning overt misgendering, but are not requiring the correct pronouns either. So transphobic faculty will have to carefully arrange their sentences to avoid pronouns entirely, instead always referring to each student by their name each time

    Sounds like a lot more work than just using the right pronouns but I guess if you’re caught up in some manipulative hateful religion this is the type of backflip you need to do sometimes

      Even if it’s not overt, it would be clear to everyone in a classroom if the only transgender student in that class were the only one not being addressed using pronouns by the teacher, something that would normalize their own rejection of their classmate’s gender identity.

        They’re literally degendering and dehumanizing them as a punishment.

        “You don’t want to be the gender we demand? Fine. No gender for you.”

      We can tell when you are doing this. It’s just as hurtful as actual misgendering. It may infact be worse, cause it’s clearly done with intent.
