Borders, Circuit City, Pan Am, Toys R Us, Woolworth’s, Tower Records, Enron, SAAB, Palm Inc, Blackberry, Gymboree. I’m sure there are more, but those are the ones I remember hitting the news.

Says here you were regional manager for RadioShack for 3 years until they closed in 2015? And your next job was… paper boy. And you were born in 2002? Welp. I can’t prove you weren’t a regional manager, so…

I briefly worked at a place where our new CEO’s claim to fame was purportedly that he was either the CEO or some other big muckety-muck (I don’t precisely remember the title he was claiming) at Circuit City. Notably, this would have been perfectly aligned with the time frame in which Circuit City tanked if this were true.

I mentioned during an all-managers conference call that this did not, in fact, provide a sterling endorsement for either his reputation or business acumen. Do you know, that observation didn’t exactly make me popular among upper management.

How would they prove they were the regional manager of any of those, pull an old Polaroid out of their wallet?

lol this is all so Michael Scott, with this whole regional manager thing.

I suppose you could provide bank statements or filings with the IRS. Those might not include the actual job title, but they would show an appropriate salary amount. Also the data brokers probably have a ton of shit on you.
