Is this the “meta” community of this instance? It’s not exactly clear from the “fans of SDF” description.¹

The question is, why can’t I find !foss_requests@libretechni.ca in an SDF-executed search? I would like to post there from here.

¹side rant: it’s a bit annoying that every Lemmy instance gives a different name to their forum for local instance-specific support/chatter without having a designation. I sort the communities with oldest first and hope something that resembles the /meta/ of the instance is on top.

the group you link to was made within the past 9 months (first post is from 2 moths ago). Anything made in that period is inaccessible from our local instance, so i presume this is the reason.

Why would it be? It makes no sense that age matters. I just arbitrarily searched for a community that was newly created on one instance from another instance, and it was found. I had to wait around 3 seconds because the check is done in realtime.

E.g. !Google@thelemmy.club was created just 1 week ago. Yet it’s found in just a few seconds by other instances.

I’d ask the admin if they ever responded to anything.

9 months back from middle of may when our instance came back online. [source]
