I started using headcrab updater to install slssteam and ensure steam is held to the latest compatible version, and move installed repacks to the steamapps/common/game location for more seamless usage. I have this working on my bazzite steam deck (haven’t personally tested steamos but it should work) and my cachy desktop and even VR works without extra stuff this way since some recent steamvr updates made pc to standalone headset not suck in linux.

Even if you aren’t a pirate pc poweruser Slssteam also lets you bypass family library usage restrictions and everyone can play one copy of a game at the same time, including online gameplay. I did a few rounds of slay the spire 2 where my brother and I each played 2 characters to test, and a friend did a solo 4 player this way as well.
