    This is unironically the goal of Taoism. Training your habits and instincts so well that you can let them take over and you can simply float along while you react naturally to the world as it’s presented, rather than planning and hoping for a future that is ultimately impossible.

      That’s, that’s really cool. I don’t think I’d reccomend due to me not giving important decisions the actual thought required and that’s led to a very sub-optimal life. I suppose the goal is to train your instincts to make the optimal choice every time, I fail there

      I am very ‘in the present’ though, very few anxieties about the future. I do drive as a hobby, which naturally comes with lots of planning. I have fewer regrets about the past; I do hold grudges, famously unforgiving, so I fail there too.

        Part of it is also to not want. Suboptimal is sort of the point. We were never meant or required to be optimal. That has been instilled upon us by the world around us. It is rarely the true desire of the soul to constantly want and strive for more.

        I recommend taking a look at 365 Tao. It’s meant to be read one page a day and is an excellent introduction into its core concepts.
