No, it wouldn’t. The difference vs someone appointed as a delegate vs a politician is that the group can recall a delegate that is not representing them whereas politicians are on set terms (for the most part).

Direct democracies exist as an antidote to the problem of corrupt “representatives” and politicians; replacing them instead with delegates who can only communicate goals and have no political power to enforce them— that power remains with the people within a direct democracy.
So how do people in a direct democracy decide for example whether to defend their country militarily against an attacker, and how, or sue for peace?
Do you publish all your military intel on the attacker and the strength of your own forces and then hold a vote?
Who decides from which age on people are eligible to vote? etc…
