I feel like she is consistently being miscast as an action heroine. She always seemed too cute and bubbly to be an action badass. Her face is incredibly expressive yet her roles never demand expressivenes from her, which makes her talents go to waste. It’s funny that Lena Headey played Cersei and Emilia played Daenerys which are completing non-interchangeable but somehow somebody thought they both could play Sarah Connor. Lena Headeys Sarah Connor worked, because she already has that punk Rockstar badass Joan Jett vibe while Emila is more of the girl next door type. It’s strange how often lead actresses of big franchises have troubles in the years after by trying to break out into other mayor productions (see Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson, Dakota Johnson, Sophie Tuner), while actors usually take on much smaller projects and have a steady career (see Daniel Radcliffe, Elijah Woods, Kit Harington).

Clarke is being miscast as an action star. She didn’t play an action character in GOT. All Daenarys did for the bulk of her screen time was look gorgeous and be mostly cluelessly lost.

When the character had to do more than that it just didn’t really work. That is why so much of her flip in S8 was so jarring.

On the follow up work, Watson really has had the most post franchise success. Beauty And the Beast made over 1 billion.

Terminator was a good movie, and I love solo. I have not watched secret invasion though.

It was, in fact, an absolute train wreck of a show. But so were a ton of Marvel Shows around that time.

I mean most Marvel shows range from fine to great. If you exclude Secret Invasion and look at the worst live action shows you’ll see things that didn’t work but had their moments, at worst forgettable.

But Secret Invasion? That really was a train wreck. It’s at the bottom of everyone’s list and it isn’t even close. Wasted concepts, wasted stories, wasted characters, wasted actors.

Yeah, Secret Invasion was embarrassingly bad in general.

Clarke was great in Ponies though. The whole cast was excellent (Vic Michaelis!!). Highly recommend it. Really hope there’s a second season.

The plot of Ponies is ridiculous. I wanted to like the show but couldn’t get through more than two episodes.

Given the stark difference in Fury’s characterisation between projects, perhaps Secret Invasion happened in an alternative universe, it is the multiverse saga after all

Solo and Terminator was such steaming piles of dogshit and she was just terrible in both.

Both were middling to okay, the problem is neither was necessary and failed to justify their respective existences.

I still think she’s a good actor and hope she finds more roles to shine in
