Isnotraeli PM Netanyahu insidiously referred to Palestinians as Amalekites, and quoted the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 25, verse 17: “Remember what Amalek did to you”, which is followed by Yahweh’s command for the Israelites “to wipe out the memory of Amalek from under the heavens”. That was undeniably “a divine directive to obliterate an entire people”, “commandment to commit genocide”. [1]
There are many more directives, attributed to Yahweh, for Israelites to commit genocide elsewhere in the Torah also: Deuteronomy 7:1-5, Deuteronomy 20:10-18, Joshua 6:20-21, Joshua 11:15, 1 Samuel 15:3, etc.

Maya Rosen (who wrote article [1], which Jewish Currents published) described those verses in the scripture as "a divine directive to obliterate an entire people” & “commandment to commit genocide” (wordings are hers, not mine). Yet while reading the article I’m not getting the impression Rosen was letting Netanyahu & his ilk of genocidaires off the critical hook .
