Firstly, sure, Israel is not a legitimate state and definitely should not exist, and probably is the worst thing Stalin ever allowed to happen. Now, let’s leave all that aside, and take the worst case scenario where they manage to “win” in their terms, meaning that they manage to replicate what the USA did, and genocide the Palestinians fully.
Aren’t they essentially doomed to be a dysfunctional broken state like the USA? All the so called gun violence, constant fear and surveillance, racial tensions, foundational inequality, etc. Essentially, can a settler state ever be rid of the inherently violence and brutality that gave birth to it? Why would you even want this?
It’s like a town with heavy industry polluting all the surrounding environment. A lot of the inhabitants will forcefully defend the factories that bring them a steady income and wave away concerns about the pollution. However the owners of the factories, getting rich, have homes elsewhere and will pull out of the area altogether whenever there’s a sniff of consequences coming their way.
These oligarchs are happy to poison everything as long as they can get richer and more powerful now. They will promote fascists to control the population, eschew ethical worries and take the blame when the dust settles.
