IMO Korean penisula is such lame choice. For me the most obvious one and the most encouraging to play it would be Chinese aggression on Taiwan and USA.
But of course we will never get that, China would IMMEDIATELY give a boot for such thing and companies are cowards.

Certain high-ranking members are paid off to step down voluntarily and exit the country in voluntary exile. US and EU reach out and offer asylum. All of these offers are ignored, not even acknowledged. Instead they all move to Russia and get cushy jobs with military contractors supplying the front lines in the war with Ukraine.
