I went ahead and picked up the Timex I mentioned the other day, and I am happy as can be! It’s light, comfortable, feels like a tank, and seems to be keeping pretty accurate time for the 9 hours that I’ve had it. It has a Miyota 8215 movement with custom, shock absorbent mounting and a screw down crown for better water resistance. It’s almost the exact same size as the Casio AE-1000W I’ve had as my EDC, and only a little bit heavier.

Bravo! Looks beautiful!
Thank you for the expert assistance earlier! You were amazingly helpful, and sent me down a new rabbit hole learning about the movements!
I’m glab that I helped. Movements are interesting and have lots to read.
I’ve had one for about 4 years, still on the original battery, still keeps time. I was chatting to someone who has had his for 20 years and it still works.
It’s noisy, and bigger than I’d like, but previously I would destroy or lose a wristwatch every 2 years or so, so I’m very happy with this one.
Edit: mine is not the “titanium” version, just the basic one
I’m glad that it’s been working for you for so long! I’m looking forward to building some history with this one, too.
