I dont like the SImps- fuck you are right. My own tldr on the topic is that the Simpsons is the only of the big Western Adult cartoons that doesnt feel that meanspirited. Stuff like Family guy or Southpark is just edgy and not in a cool way like a skeleton knight.
Only one from 2011 when it first started. Since then they have a trans character now voiced by a Black trans person.
And honestly the episode in question is a problem, but its not in the spirit of hating trans people. To stress and speaking as a trans person it’s not good. It just isn’t “I hate trans people” transphobia.
One of them does about the episode where they tear down the gay night club in town and they have to put on a underground party for the queer community who doesn’t have anywhere else to go.
Marshmallow is the recurring trans character who shows up from the episode but is done a lot better after that. She even has a cameo at the end of the movie dancing in trans colors.
Np! What I normally do is show people the movie. It’s a good idea of what it’s about anymore. If not I always say it doesn’t really start being Bob’s Burgers in earnest.
… My autistic ass may also have a guide I made up to like Season 11 if anyone is interested
The only recurring theme I can identify in early/peak simpsons that sticks out as in any way deliberately reactionary or antisocial is the weird anti social security jokes with Abe, more than once they go out of their way in an otherwise hilarious episode to shit on the idea of old people getting money out of a system they paid into for that exact reason and it’s never particularly funny. Obviously the depiction of Apu varies from not great to wildly racist but it’s also inconsistent in a way that comes off as not deliberately malicious but just completely fucking ignorant, someone in the writers room straight up hated social security.
Im not saying Simpsons is free of reactionary elements. I merely felt the other big Adult Cartoons like Southpark etc are much worse in that regard. Also Simpsons can be legit wholesome at times.

Bob’s Burgers is great. I’m honestly surprised more people don’t know about it. There is even episodes that deal with basic leftist theory.
And my personal favorite

It was based on “Dr. Evil” Vesel levels of lore, completely unrelated to it. It’s also even
That’s good to hear maybe I’ll pick it up again thanks

I liked it but…I didn’t find it that funny. It was nice to watch from time to time, but it was very easy to put down.
