in post socialist states theres this ongoing narrative that russia is trying to spread white supremacist/far right propaganda to destroy their democracy but i dont think thats true

for some reason europeans think they cant have stupid ideology on their own. they think that theyre democratic by nature so it has to be slavic orcs trying to get to them.

”they try to implement reactionary ideologies to cause ideological and societal collapse in our state!” just sounds like what they did to the USSR and tried to do to china

There are white supremasist and far right people, and not only in goverment, even in kprf there’s a guy with last name Matveev who screaming at far right protest stuff like “today immigrants, tomorrow occupants” (in the first few seconds he does here) and bragging about knowing solzhenitsyn personally and glazing him, although he just one guy and more likely that he’s trying to ponder what’s popular at the moment like, just like Navalny was a nationalist at first (in video he’s comparing immigrants to bugs and cocroaches) … Also goverment named one of studyung centers of РГГУ (Russian State University for the Humanities) in the name of Ivan Ilyn, the guy who fled USSR and wrote stuff like “Fascism was right” right after Hitlers defeat, and that on the other hand organized studends to protest it. Saddly, it didn’t helped but organisation still exists with around 1000 people in there as I heard, which is cool. Also goverment occasionaly sponsor “historical” movies, and some school force children to watch them and I wouldn’t be againts them, if it was actually historical movies, but instead it something stupid like at the end of T-34 soviet tank man shakes hands with gestapo soldier, or like in the other movie Zoya Kosmodemyanska portrayed as Jesus who was suffering not for saving her fatherland from nazis, but just for small things in life like tram near house or a freshly baked bun, or other movie where Moscow was protected because some orthodox cristian icon was brought on plane and carried around city and also Stalin consults with little psychic girl, or I can keep going there are quite a few of those… So I would say there ARE some right-wing and white supremacy pandering at the goverment level, but I have to argue there are also some people there to oppose them, for example it’s a really rare occasion for street to be renamed since soviet time, so there are still lots of Lenin and Marx streets all over Russia, I also once was on a Boulevard of Sailor Zheleznyakov, who was an anarchist and did a lot during revolution. So as I see it there are some active goverment people who are far-right, some that are againts it and most of them do not care as long as they are in power and can make money so they’ll say whatever. The most showing example is Lenins mausoleum, which some want to remove, some want to keep and this debate is since the first day of counter-revolution.

But there were not a single time when goverment tried to target specific ethnical minorities. About political minorities - cfgaussian expanded greatly on anti-lgbt laws so I don’t see the reason to repeat it.
