Hey all! Welcome back to the monthly weekly gaming thread! So, what have you been playing this last month?

I’ve been on quite a few things! Saros, Mario galaxy 2, some other stuff!

I also recently started Abiotic Factor which is a super fun co op survival game that takes a ton of inspiration from the original half life. It’s awesome! Def recommend if you have some friends to run it with

Started Disco Elysium. I held off for so long because it seemed depressing and the art style didn’t appeal, but then it went on sale. Yes, it is pretty depressing but I’m still enjoying it so far. Trying not to look into any information about it so that I can experience it unspoiled.

It’s a wonderful game. It might appear depressing at times, but ultimately I think it’s a game about hope. Take your time with it, and don’t be afraid to be weird. This isn’t a game that punishes you for picking wacky dialogue options very often. And don’t be afraid to fail checks either, failure is a recurring theme of the game and it’s designed with a fail-forward philosophy. Some of my favourite moments actually come from failed checks.

Yeah it’s a very funny game, despite also being serious a lot of the time. It’s an impressive balancing act in the writing.

The music is by a band called Sea Power, which Robert Kurvitz managed to convince make the OST! Some absolute bangers on that soundtrack, every time those horns hit when you step out of the Whirling…

The weather has been so nice that I’m spending a lot of my free time outside, so I’ve really only been playing idle games that I can ignore for a few hours at a time and then pay attention to for 5 minutes.

Reactoridle is my favorite, but I also play Swarm Simulator and Shark Game.

I do have an appointment to play Minecraft with my grandson on Thursday, so I’m looking forward to that.

I’ve had a lot of gaming time on my hands being sick all weekend. I started another Sims4 game and have been playing the new Tomadochi Life on Switch. I think I enjoy the relationship system on Tomadochi life better, but speedrunning relationships does have its place with limited game time.

I’m trying a 100 baby challenge with the updated rules so I’ll see how far I get before I fail or get tired of it. Taking care of babies feels way more grind-y now since the last time I tried this.

Also, I’m super stoked for Paralives early access on May 25th.
