didn’t know “pancake mixes” are a thing until i met a certain someone online <3

alternative image link (blahaj zone)

in germany, “pancakes” are usually very flat, almost becoming crepes. i like em ~ u roll em up and eat em ~ ~ ~

apparently, american pancakes* are thick. like - 3 centimeters thick. u can’t roll those! wowie zowie.

i put brainmade tag instead of my previous no ai cuz… eh - i felt like it.
“no ai” implies “free of slop” meanwhile “brainmade” implies “a human thought about and made this”… which feels nicer to say to me. also it fits that thing this no boilerplate guy made so horray iguess----

also, this song found in the latest 8th episode of the amazing digital circus was very nice. i pirated it and luv it ~ ~ ~ ~

it makes me think and i like thinking.

also!!! im lookin for - im lookin for peeps to play some gems with----

so like — if u got like umm - a switch 2 or switch 1 (with some games) then like - um-- maybe put a comment if u wanna— dunno

for switch 2 owners

i got some online game share games, so u dont even need to own the games - huzza.

EDIT: removed duplicate “rule” in title

being in the united states, it seems that especially here on west coast being able to cook properly is not a very common skill. in the east it was much less of a problem, but out here like… we’ve seen others try and cook meat with microwave ovens on uh several occasions.

we have never seen pancakes that thick, but pancake mix is very much a real, actual thing that quite frankly, tastes not so good, and is surprisingly tricky to actually cook. good tasting pancakes (even at restaurant) are very rare to come across here unfortunately.

on the bright side though, this means that if you can cook, you can make tasty stuff for those around you and they’ll do like anything you ask of them in return. oh and we mean ANYTHING, no matter how lascivious :33

Pancake mix is just flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Leave out the sugar and decrease the baking powder and you have a cracker.
What do you use when making pancakes?

for the style we prefer, typically some potatoes and corn starch or flour, mixed with some egg. add seasoning, then put a little oil on a skillet. to the mix we may also add some pepper or onion, perhaps some more finely diced strawberry too.

as for the “traditional” (but not where we grew up) american style, we have only tried making it a few times, but we managed to get something pretty alright. we used flour and a little sugar also, but opted for yeast instead of baking soda, also adding some malt extract and butter (or heavy cream with a little egg). one time we subbed out the sugar for molasses (per a suggestion by sister), which we liked but there are some who would absolutely hate it hehe. this style also seems to go a lot better with fruit!

honestly we kinda throw whatever ingredients into the mix by feel and it generally seems to turn out pretty well hehe :)

The key with store bought pancake batter is that it does not have to be only for pancakes. I am definitely a make-it-from-scratch guy but whatever works for whoever is buying it!

Also. This is not medical advice. But store bought batter can be very nice and easy for deep frying things. Corn dogs, gringo churros, that kinda thing ;)

Also most pancake mixes can (should?) still be elevated by adding vanilla and/or an egg
