Also pretty sure a lot (or maybe most) of it is fedposting.

I remember when “Infrared” (Haz) first started on YouTube and it seemed way too polished to not be some kind of op.

Dude I actually listened to a “””lecture””” of his recently for the first time. It’s a long story but that ACP type crap is spreading where I live and me and a comrade watched it to sort of mock it… and it was so much worse than I expected.

It was just 40 minutes of absolutely delusional rambling. How anyone with any iota of understanding of Marx could think this guy is a historical materialist is absolutely wild to me. I could generously call it a reeeeally confused Hegelianism, like if someone read a bit of hegel and really didn’t understand it at all. It was pure idealism.

He was going on about the “steppe-civilisation dialectic” and how “tartaria is not a physical place, tartaria is the source of dark marxism, the realisation of the steppe-civilisation dialectic”. Just absolute word salad. Like someone put some vaguely Hegelian sounding words on a wheel of fortune and made a sentence out of various spin results. It was utterly bizarre.

I already thought these people were complete morons for following this guy, but I came out of the experience confused how even the most impressionable person could buy into it. It’s not even slightly impressive in a rhetorical or theoretical sense. It doesn’t even seem like something a smart person would say to trick people. It was genuine ramblings of a madman type stuff.

Consider as a point of comparison that Candace Owens is somewhat more popular and seems to be sincerely arguing for the existence of time travel and Kirk having a special soul that caused electrical interference.

I think I see what’s going on there. Not in an ideologically coherent way, rather that the language aesthetics are giving peterson-pain vibes. Like someone smashed together vaguely Marxist jargon with Peterson’s style in order to appeal to the same sort of person that buys into Peterson’s nonsense.

My thoughts exactly - people who never find materialism and are just utterly drowning in western abstractions can definitely glom onto this type of pseudo-intellectual shit.

Nope, it was Haz (EDIT: More specifically the video was just advertising “Infrared”). I do remember his early videos and the content itself was shit, but there was a promo video before that even that I saw someone post to reddit that looked professionally edited. I can’t seem to find it now, but I do remember it pretty clearly.
