Self-professed misogynist influencer Andrew Tate believes reading is for people with “slow brains,” according to a recent resurfaced clip of him on X. In the video, Tate is seen bragging that his brain is too advanced for reading and that he’d rather be in constant chaos.

“I’m too smart to read. I know you’re sitting there going ‘smart people read’… no. I need action. I need constant chaos in my life to feel content. I need to be driving a supercar and f—ing fighting, f—ing a bunch of hoes and champagne… going crazy.”

ADHD does track with thriving in chaos. I know that my own attention span sometimes doesn’t stick long enough to read a book.

I tend to consider it a detriment to myself, because it’s at odds with what I wish I could do. I know that others have come to better terms with it. To Tate, however, anything and everything about him has to be another indicator of his supremacy. The logic goes like this:

1: I’m unable to keep my attention on books.
2: Everything that I am is great.
Ergo: My inability to stick with books is a good thing.
Inverse: Reading books is a bad thing.
Ergo: Books are stupid and I’m just too smart.

The error lies in the second premise being universal. Whether he might have some great things or none at all is irrelevant here, but I’m sure we all agree that not everything is great. If you turned that premise into a particular “Some things that I am are great” (again, veracity is irrelevant to my point), the syllogism would no longer work and the conclusion would be invalid.

So all in all, he might have ADHD, but that doesn’t make him less of an arrogant waste of space.

If you only ever read one book,

    Then shut the fuck up.

If you never read any books,

No, seriously. Shut the fuck up.

He upsets people which facebook and most other social media designers view as an important way to keep users engaged.

Projection as usual with this putz. Books remind him of how slowly his brain works, so he assumes that is everyone’s experience with them.

Hey fucknut, the Russian Infantry is looking for volunteers for frontline duty. Don’t worry, the European NATO members will provide plenty of tungsten for the action you seek.

You can report on the damage a trash person does without writing “trash person says…”. At some point, “X says Y” became a news trope and its godawefull.

Agreed. I will never understand how these people got famous. I do understand that they are manipulative and all that, but still… For manipulative people to be successful, one needs to be manipulated. I think this says more about the manipulated (and society overall) than it does about these manipulative, stupid, pieces of shit.

We will always have unscrupulous pieces of shit. The fact that society is choosing to make these people famous, and “powerful”, is dystopian. Absolutely pathetic.

Dear Andrew. You need to fill your head with stuff cause you’re unable to sit in the silence of your own mind since it’s shouting what an utter failure you are at being a decent person. You’ve hurt so many people, and deep down you know that ain’t right. It’s called cognitive dissonance. I want to hope you can become a whole person someday, but frankly you don’t deserve that. Honestly I can’t see you as anything other than a drain on society.

Loved your response. Simple, logical, thoughtful and beautiful.

To sit in the silence of one’s own mind…

      You sir are a thinker.

I just wish for a world where I am not exposed to mr chinless every dumb thing he says. Or every famous individidual says. Use your critical thinking and wits, for your opinion. If something seems that wrong, it is.
