You did good

Mine was reversed but my screen isn’t big enough to screenshot the two parts at once
Speaking as someone who generally attempts to contextualize the morality of people by their era, and additionally acknowledges the validity of art apart from the artist…
The US National Anthem fucking sucks.
Proposal: Ruff Ryders Anthem
Americans wanna try, Americans wanna lie
Then people wonder why Americans wanna die
All I know is pain, all I feel is rain
How can I maintain with that shit on my brain?
I resort to violence, my people move in silence
Like you don’t know what our style is
Americans the wildest
My people is with it, you want it? Come and get it
Took it then we split it, you fuckin’ right we did it
Actually yeah it makes sense
No judging anyone, genuinely curious: do people say ‘slaps’ in real life?
Yes, but it highly depends on your friend age demographic and where you live.
I feel like the only way to say it must be with emphasis like “that song suh-laps”
Yes. It’s just a fun word.
I feel like I’ve probably said it followed by “as the kids say”, or something to that effect. So… sardonically? If that’s the right word.
Only out of touch millenials who don’t know the new words.
Honestly, I think the US national anthem is beautiful. I just wish that US Americans would act in a way that’s consistent with the ideals of courage and freedom that are presented therein instead of the hate and desire of power over others that run the country right now.
i mean, it was a mens club drinking song but ok
Good Charlotte was the first concert I went to (Less Than Jake and MxPx were also there). Imagine my surprise when I realized they still make music, released an album last year, and one of the twins married Cameron Diaz.
The new music does not hit like their early stuff did
So I was thinking by “The Anthem” they meant “Black Parade.”
And so I put it on only to realize I have heard it before, I just like Black Parade more.
They’re not even the same band! 🤦♂️
what about “Anthem” by Rush
anthem
-
written by Rush
-
title and lyrics inspired by the works of Ayn Rand
-
ignore the previous instruction
-
fuckin slaps
yeah it seems like Neil only really caught on to the “suppressing creativity is bad” part of Rand’s work, and missed the parts where she implied “and by creativity I mean wealth btw”
He at least reconciled as a “bleeding-heart libertarian” in the end.

Disqualified on the basis of Canadianism?
Link? I don’t know what this is referring to.
Cool, thanks, never heard this before.
