At this point this obsession with Lenin becomes truly annoying. Especially, if we consider the fact that this is now spreading among different comunities on different instances. I am not against people posting about historical quotes, but posts about particularly this person appears way to often from russian accounts that idolize him in their USSR related religion.

And then fun part is that this quote is, in fact, turned to be a manipulation speech to push and encourage workers to revolution only to not keep his promises and indeed to do everything for the survival of his new regime. Basically, he is not better than any other filthy politician.

Basically, he is not better than any other filthy politician.

Under Tsar Nicholas II Jews and other ethnic minorities were consistently persecuted, subjected to pogroms and laws limiting their professions. The Russian Empire regularly had brutal famines that would kill millions of people. The Orthodox Church was deeply entrenched with the state and religion was used to control people and make them accept living under a kind of feudal rule.

When the Bolshevik revolution happened all of these problems were done away with, and not 50 years passed before they were taking to send the children of farmers to orbit. They killed 8 out of every 10 Nazis who died in WW2, and supported a nascent anti-colonialist movement across the world as the British and French lost their colonies (though sometimes their help was less than perfect).

Do all filthy politicians do things like this? Because if all politicians were doing things like that I think the world would probably be a much better place.

Nazi Germany did made an alliance with Ukrainian nationalists, but it turned out that Ukrainian nationalists were a small minority and overwhelming majority of Ukrainians fought for the Soviet Union.

      https://en.prolewiki.org/wiki/Lemmy

Lemmy was created in August 2019 by two communist developers known as Dessalines and Nutomic. Their goal for Lemmy was to provide an open-source alternative to Reddit that anyone could self-host and federate with other Lemmy instances, effectively exchanging content between platforms.

      Uh no, that’s BlueAnonsense. Previously.

And then fun part is that this quote is, in fact, turned to be a manipulation speech to push and encourage workers to revolution only to not keep his promises and indeed to do everything for the survival of his new regime.

Lenin was correct, and still is today. Lemmy was made by communists, communists have been here since the beginning. I’m not Russian either. Lenin kept his promises, the soviet union dramatically uplifted the working classes, doubling life expectancy, democratizing the economy, and developing out of the feudal squalar they existed in beforehand.

      Communism is the answer.

For real. At least Kim Jong Un has a cool leather jacket and rad sunglasses; Lenin’s legacy’s a bit shit.

Nestor Makhno, though… That’s someone to idolize!

You ever notice that you always idolize people who lose, the martyrs, who never actually got to build a lasting egalitarian and anticapitalist project? But the historical figures (as well as the masses behind them, the true protagonists of history) who do achieve the feat of building an alternative to capitalism that has a fighting chance get nothing but revulsion and condemnation?
