    “modern workloads” like what, bloated electron apps, dogshit react SPAs, adtech spyware, and slop generators? Yea it’s definitely the consumers not buying hard enough that’s the problem here.

      I literally can’t think of any new useful features that have been added in the past decade. The way I use my phone and computer hasn’t substantially changed in any way. And if anything, as you point out, the shit that has been added just makes your quality of life worse. I recently put Zorin Linux on a laptop I have from 2015, and it’s blazing fast.
