I have always been fond of music, especially when I’m feeling down. Now, I don’t think there’s enough popular songs about disability and how we struggle each day. But I stumbled across a song the other day that, while it’s not about disability, I’ve been listening to quite often when I feel like I failed somehow. When all that’s happening is really just me struggling and making it through another day, for better or for worse, I like to remind myself that I am perfectly incomplete, but I am good the way I am. I hope that maybe it helps you too.

As always, we ask that in order to participate in the weekly megathread, one self-identifies as some form of disabled, which is broadly defined in the community sidebar:
“Disability” is an umbrella term which encompasses physical disabilities, emotional/psychiatric disabilities, neurodivergence, intellectual/developmental disabilities, sensory disabilities, invisible disabilities, and more. You do not have to have an official diagnosis to consider yourself disabled.
Mask up, love one another, and stay alive for one more week.

stares at the charlie kirk emoji coldly
i thought that was a mormon magic underwear thing
I thought it was also a baby’s legs on the emoji bc it was supposed to infantilize him, not mock him for incontinence.
1: extremely bad faith argument, disappointing
2: infantilizing someone for wearing diapers is still ableist
3: its to mock him for wearing diapers, just look at how its used across the site
I’m not defending the emoji, I think it’s a weird emoji and I’m describing what I thought it was supposed to convey, as baby feet and a diaper in conjunction seemed like it was supposed to indicate he was infantile. I don’t think it’s a good way of portraying a fascist; adding a Hitler beard is really simpler and more effective imo. Also, I haven’t seen anyone use the emoji bc I’m barely active outside the disabled comm, so I don’t know how other users use it. I’m sorry I offended you, that was really not the reason for my post, and I’m also sorry for making it seem like I don’t care. That was not my intention, and I apologize
