A group of Democrats and one Democratic-aligned independent have helped clinch an agreement to end the government shutdown, saying they had secured a vote on the Affordable Care Act subsidies at the center of the standoff.

So, backpay for furloughed workers is already supposed to be the law. And I’m pretty sure that firing them during furlough is probably also illegal, or at the very least it’s simply unprecedented behavior. If they even follow through on this part of the deal, and I’m not sure that they will, A) these are not wins for the Dems, these are a wash. Like your bully steals your lunch money and a teacher makes him give it back, but otherwise gives no consequences for the theft in the first place. The consequences of the theft were corrected for now, but the root cause, the fucking thief, has not been corrected. B) Absolutely nothing about these goons’ behavior has been in good faith.
