Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the leak of footage showing ostensible abuse of a Palestinian prisoner at Sde Teiman “caused enormous reputational damage to Israel, to the IDF, and to our soldiers.”

“It is perhaps the most serious public-relations attack Israel has experienced since its founding — I cannot recall one so concentrated and intense,” he continues.

Note: the soldiers are accused, including in statements from medical staff, of gang raping a Palestinian prisoner with a knife.

It is funny (in a tragic way) that people in power always seem to want to kill the messenger, if there were nothing bad to leak, then the leak would not have happened. It is as simple as that.

If you don’t want bad PR about your country doing horrible stuff, don’t do horrible stuff.

It’s just “people”, sadly. Recently in a small town here in France, a gay school principal killed herself after several years of anonymous harassment. She received no support from the ministry of education, nor the mayor. Reactions from the townspeople, before and after the suicide, amounted to “yeah yeah this is very sad, but have you thought about the damage this will do to the town’s reputation?”

I mean they did anally rape the guy with a knife and curbstomp him in the chest, soooo the optics are not great.

These people are every bit as bad as the Nazis and all one has to do to see the truth is listen to them in their own words 🤷

Such a number would represent almost 8 percent of Gaza’s pre-war population of 2.3 million.

And there are still a lot of people trying to weasel out of using the genocide label. Including higher ups at wikipedia! Makes me very angry.

Israel is like my abusive ex girlfriend Krista who like, when I’d walk in the room and find her snooping through my phone and I’d be like “hey why are you snooping through my phone?” and she’d start screaming at me and then she’d commit some genocide and war crimes

Military Advocate Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi resigned from her post on Friday after admitting that she had leaked a video that purportedly shows several Israeli soldiers severely beating and injuring a Palestinian security detainee at the Sde Teiman military detention facility in 2024.

Rape. The word you’re looking for is rape.

Netanyahu was less than a month away from spending his life in prison on corruption charges before he declared martial law.

    Never forget that.

He should be in a cell.

After all the people he’s killed to stay out of prison, he now deserves to be flayed alive and tossed into the ocean.

True, but just to add he didn’t “declare martial law;” the Israeli PM doesn’t have that kind of power. The Israeli justice system and so-called liberal Zionists just refuse to go after him for his corruption for fear of impeding the genocide.

The Zionist party Zionist party was given totalitarian control by the rest of the parties after the Oct 7th attack

Netanyahu then declared martial law and has been dictator since, he will be dictator as long as he keeps the war going

It’s how he is avoiding accountability

I’d argue that having gang rapes within the IDF is the cause for the “reputation loss”, but leave it to Bibi to rewrite both history and the true meaning of words.

Netanyahu, the IDF and the ruling right-wing government of Israel have caused enormous reputational damage to Israel by slaughtering scores of Palestinian men, women and children.

Netanyahu’s actions here harm Israel’s reputation more than gang raping a defenseless prisoner. The video shows Israeli soldiers committing war crimes, but those are just lowly soldiers

When Netanyahu continues to allow that to happen and only works to prevent more video leaking, it’s clear this is Israeli military culture coming from the top

Israel is the Republican State of the middle east. Scream about a leak making them look bad, hunt for the leak, whine about how it makes them look, and keep doing the shitty things anyway.
