$1/minute sleeping and $0.06/step taken.
This gives you 8x60x$1 = $480/night or 10000x$0.06= $600 a day for the recommended 10k steps a day.

Anyone saying steps is stupid. With sleep, you’re still making money if you’re sick, if you’re injured, if you’re lazy. And if you absolutely must increase your income, you can pursue ordinary work during the day without threatening your other income stream.
Also, actual average steps per day are in the 4k to 7k range. $240-$420. If you’re not already an extraordinarily active person, how long do you expect you can keep your effort up? Will it really be a permanent change in habit once you get financially comfortable?
It’s mid-afternoon and I’m already at 8,672 steps, just from housework and a half-hour walk. I don’t think you have to be an extraordinarily active person to reach 10k steps in a day. Barring disability it’s a very achievable goal.
