Tinfoil hat on: after covid, AI is the next huge accellerator of the empires decline. Morals aside, it would have been a genius play for any outside actor to introduce both to the west. But I agree that capitalism fuels its own decline so thats a good explanation too I guess. Tinfoil hat off.
