Long story short - I have slightly more than a year left before I’m legally required to serve in the Ukrainian military, not that it matters that much since they grab people off the streets anyway, but it will be an even bigger problem since I will officially have no “excuse” not to serve and will have to hide or escape before then, and it doesn’t look like the war will end for the next god knows how many years. Has anyone here draft-dodged or escaped their country in a similar manner before? If so, any advice on how to do so?

Hook up with people in Germany that can come in as visitors and maybe escort you out. I’d try the Romanian border instead though and pre-arrange bribing the border guards. No shame in that. I don’t know if it’s viable to do a border crossing on foot but I’ve known at least one person who entered Ukraine from the south remarkably easy so getting out may not be too hard in emergencies. Be very careful with any option.

Thank you, I actually haven’t heard much of people running from the south, mostly just attempting to swim across a river in the west (and get caught). Now that I think about it, I prolly don’t hear about it cause they have no problem leaving the country lmao. One more direction to look at.
