I’m writing some notes for people who don’t want to watch the video. Please reply to the base post instead of this comment.
Pete starts the video by saying he is really interested in automated vehicles and by this he means self driving cars. He doesn’t once mention trains or buses or public transportation.
He mentions that Tucker Carlson made up a conspiracy theory that Peter is faking being gay.
Pete feigns care for T being removed from LGBT in government documents, doesn’t really mention any tangible way to stop this from happening.
Pete says his parents are “left of center”, says “our household was liberal”. He doesn’t mention that his father was an English professor who translated Marxist books.
Pete says that Zohran is popular because he focuses on “affordability”. This is Pete using means testing language. Pete says you should always be able to “afford” your healthcare no matter what your job is.
Pete says that republicans are doing means testing to prevent people from getting food stamps and Medicaid. He didn’t use the word mean testing but he said like “red tape”. No self awareness. He wants to be the means tester.
Pete says that all jewish people are scared by the phrase “globalize the intifada”.
Pete says that “unspeakable horrors happening in Gaza started with unspeakable horrors being committed by Hamas on October 7”. Andrew puts a disclaimer on screen that some of Pete’s claims about October 7 were proven false.
Pete says that there’s an explosion of anti-semitism on college campuses. Andrew correct him by playing clips of the pro-Israel doxxing trucks which targeted anti-Israel students.
Pete defends sending weapons to Israel. He uses the Democrat’s offensive weapons vs defensive weapons narrative.
Pete blames Israel’s war crimes on Netanyahu and says “we have to realize that jewish people will not be safe anywhere unless they have self determination in their homeland”. Then blames Netanyahu for settlements in the Westbank.
Pete says that he was inspired by the Iraq war to enlist in the US military.
Andrew asks Pete about 9/11 being caused by blowback. Pete says that there’s a “difference between understanding something and justifying it”. Pete brushes off the concept of blowback and redirects the conversation to “promoting american values” and says he says that Xi and Putin have wrong values. He basically excuses the Iraq war by saying that it was necessary to push them to American values and then says that Xi and Putin are wrong for having values.
I’ve watched about 60% of the video at this point. The gist is that Pete wants to do the same thing as Republicans but while wearing blue.
I know the average person doesn’t view cars as one of the main reasons they feel so lonely/isolated from others but holy fucking shit. How do you not see it
i don’t really want to ride american busses again. cycling is faster way too often. trains would be fine if they existed in my part of the country and went anywhere useful

Americans would rather be lonely than have to share a seat with… “those people”
