Pretty crazy how much control they’re able to exert over information.

    Note that the AI are generally trained on batches of the internet; they’ll always be at least 6 months behind popular opinion (and usually much longer).

    There’s been a strong case made that Israel really is not Judaism, but it was a case that (sadly) needed to be made to a lot of people. I presume gpt will shift over the next few years - it is quite annoying to control the information coming out of an LLM atm. So I take this as a sign that a public information campaign worked.

      It’s baffling to me that it had to be made. Why would a country be equated to a religion? It’s like saying the current Saudi government represents all of Islam

        I think Israel is a case of both strong payoff (many people really dislike/push back against antisemitism in a way that they simply don’t for islamophobia; the words we have for them are weirdly not parallel), and concentrated spending for a long while.

        The Saudi government probably could make itself such an icon, they have the money and the leverage. But I suspect it doesn’t benefit them much.
