Are all heads of state “authoritarians” in your view, or just communists? Secondly, I don’t think anyone would enjoy racism being hurled their way, is racism justified if you don’t like your target and deem them evil?

Nowhere in your link does it state that Xi Jinping started the comparisons to Winnie the Pooh, nor why it fizzled out in China but became extremely widespread in the west, especially among racist right-wingers. You also didn’t answer my question, do you just call all heads of state “authoritarian,” or is that just for communists? And is racism justified if you think the target is evil or something?

It’s incredibly telling that you say I have poor comprehension when you can’t firmly answer anything I asked.

The funny thing about this is that Winnie the Pooh was never blacklisted. I spent 7 months last year travelling in China, and Winnie the pooh is literally everywhere. Toys, products, a fucking ride in Shanghai Disneyland.

Xi literally doesn’t give a fuck about your stupid meme. He and the rest of the country is too busy winning.

Also, extreme lols at citing knowyourmeme. Great bit

I don’t know of this is true, but my headcanon is that the comparisons were originally made with no ill intent. iirc the first ever instance wasn’t even Xi+Obama, but Xi poking out of a sedan’s roof during a military parade, which was juxtaposed to a toy figure of Winnie in a car.

People then joked that these comparisons would be censored, started making them with that in mind and when some egregious ones were deleted, it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. Censorship of (some) comparisons to The Pooh then got exaggerated into censorship of him in general.

Again, I don’t know if this is true and I don’t want to sift through muck online to look into it.

Interesting that you posted the link that also shows the orginal meme with Xi and Obama. I wonder why Obama is represented by tigger ? It’s the lanky stature right? Definitely not similarity to a racial slur, right?
