    I wonder if this is the kind of stuff that my family living in opposite sides of the Texas/Mexico said this kind of stuff during the Holocaust, or if they were completely in the dark.

    I can’t even fathom what these people are going through. After the first month or two of Israel continually punishing Palestinian civilians for an attack to which they had no association, I told my wife that it was unlikely we’d ever visit my Israeli family because I couldn’t imagine how I’d ever forgive the country. Now, I’m not sure I could ever forgive my family.

    How does a boy who used to interview and care for Holocaust survivors end up surrounded by Nazis?

    Man, just have them fly in and stay in your house even without a visa, and figure it out later. It’s better than dead!
