Hi everyone,

For full movie streams, please don’t just post anything found on YouTube, The Internet Archive etc as they might not be licensed.

Choose from one of the licensed sources below. Or, if you believe you have found another source that is licensed , suggest it in the comments here (including why you think it’s licensed, e.g. the related website of a legit movie distribution company.)

Here are some licensed sources for free, legal streaming action movies & shows. These can be seen:

  • free-gratis

  • no account required

  • full screen

  • in a web browser

  • in some countries but probably not all (please let me know in the comments which work and don’t work in your location)

1. Free, licensed action movies & shows

Streaming sites with their own domain.

1.1

Some caveats with these sites.

I can watch FreeMovies+ full screen on my Roku, but in the web browser there are navigation bars at side and top, even in so-called “full screen”. Might be different for you, or with an account.

Previously you could watch all films without registering but now only some. No way to filter for those, you just have to click on or hover over a film and see if it says “Play” (no registration required) or “Register”. Even so, still has more no-reg-required films than their Youtube channel (in Section 2).

2. YouTube, The Internet Archive, Daily Motion etc.

“User-generated content” sites.
Because anyone can upload to sites like those, I need to investigate the legal issues more before we can recommend most links from there, as they may or may not be licensed.

I will add here mainly some YouTube channels that I strongly believe are licensed. (I am not a lawyer.) Please comment if you know any more that you strongly believe are licensed.

Cinetimes is a meta-search engine that seeks to include only licensed or public domain films from YouTube, the Internet Archive, Wikipedia etc. But it doesn’t include several of the (AFAIK) licensed channels listed below.

FilmRise is a large independent AVOD distributor.

Flix for Free is an outlet for Uncork’d Entertainment, distributor of low budget action, horror and scifi.

Shaw Brothers Cinema appears to be a licensed outlet for Celestial Pictures, owners of the Shaw Brothers back catalogue, managed by media service provider The Lasso Group. Not all the films are action/martials arts movies, but plenty are. Films don’t stay there forever but are cycled, so you need to subscribe & watch before they disappear. Films in The Golden Vault playlist require a paid subscription and are also cycled/rotated.

Outlet for Shout! Factory. Lots of genre material, usually over 20 years old.

TheArchive is an outlet of Multicom Entertainment Group, distributor mainly of ‘retro’ content. There are differences in selection between their YouTube channel and their website (see section 1). I certainly see a lot more martial arts movies on the website than currently in that YouTube playlist.

Outlet for Shoreline Entertainment, a film sales and AVOD company.

Outlet for the Wu Tang Collection.

3. Library streaming

(Free but requires an account.)
In some countries, you might be able to stream a movie for free if you have a library card and your library participates in a digital media service.

4. Legit stream & download finding services

There are several services to help you find a legit source to stream or download a movie, maybe free or maybe paid.

  • JustWatch (Remember to select your country from the drop-down menu.)
  • Reelgood
  • Kinorium
  • JustWatch Search (A ‘JustWatch search engine’ but searches for multiple services for multiple countries. Enter the movie title and click on “Prices” {yes, even for free streaming}. Source.)

Your suggestions?

If you know any more sites like in sections 1, 2, 3 or 4, please let us know in the comments.
