It’s probably a coincidence but I managed to delete the account on old.reddit.com now about 1h later.
More than likely they were doing some sort of damage control.
I have so many accounts… ugh I don’t even want to think about having to delete them all.
Remember to redact all your posts with “fuck /u/spez” before deletion. There are tools to do that.
Just remember to also do that before API access becomes paid.
Be careful that some communities have bots that review posts right after they are edited, that could ban you from said community. This would prevent you from editing the rest of your comments / posts.
Oh thanks for reminding me I cannot nuke my account history anymore when API fees are there
