For him, it’s about being right. After learning a bit about his past, it seems (to me anyway) that having an autistic kid kind of broke him. He’s been trying to fix it ever since. It’s sad, really.
That would require acknowledging that he is the problem. He doesn’t have that level of introspection. It’s easier for him to just convince himself that the professionals are the problem.

He should retire from public life and seek professional help then, not inflict his trauma on everyone else.
