The Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian foreign affairs committees issued a joint statement from Birstonas, Lithuania, on Friday supporting Ukraine amid Russia’s full-scale invasion, and its membership in the EU and NATO.

“We call on the upcoming 2025 NATO Summit [at the end of June] in The Hague to take concrete political steps that would pave the way for Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance,” the statement reads.

Ukraine’s victory over Russia’s aggression and Ukrainian membership in NATO would consolidate a just and lasting peace not only in Ukraine but also in all of Europe and help preserve the rules-based international order globally, it says.

Earlier this month, Nordic, Baltic and central European NATO members are committed to Ukrainian membership of the military alliance, the leaders of Poland, Romania and Lithuania said following a summit of the so-called B9 and Nordic countries on Monday, according to a Reuters report.
