After watching the first episode, I gave up immediately, as it didn’t feel like WOT to me, as a book reader. It wasn’t the casting, it was the feel of it. When they had Perrin married and killing his wife in the first episode, I was pretty upset, for example–Perrin is a favorite of mine, and it felt like a cheap shortcut to explore his fears. Also, the Two Rivers didn’t seem right to me.

That being said, I have been seeing a lot of clips online lately, and I have to confess I was about ready to try again. I saw some clips with Rand at Rhuidean and Mat with the Eelfinn that seemed to capture the books well.

I was still troubled by some of the changes that seemed unnecessary to me, but I was going to try to put aside my book prejudice. Now that it seems we’ll never get Dumai’s Wells, the cleaning of saidin, or Tarmon Gai’don, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be worth it to me at all. I feel for the folks who did invest in it.

If it wasn’t limited to Prime, maybe people would watch. Its a great show, but cancelling this one and focusing on other titles isn’t going to increase viewership.

This is a Prime problem, not a WoT problem.

Awe fuck no! Had they canceled it after season one I would have been happy, but the last two seasons were amazing!

This has seriously fucked me up. Season 3 got me so hopeful, I’ve fallen in love with the cast, I’ve advocated for the show to my peers and it just sucks that it’s gone.

Torn on this, I think the acting was solid but the writing was still having issues. 2 and 3 were improvements over season 1 by a lot, but there were still a lot of problems, not least of which was the favoritism shown to Rafe’s partner. Changes were always going to be needed to adapt but really struggled with a lot of the choices made in this attempt.
