So this community is titled and centered around Gunpla, but there are plenty of Gunpla-adjacent model lines out there as well. How do we feel about similar kits being posted here? Broadening the scope can encourage more posting and help build a larger and more active community.
Other Bandai mecha lines like 30MM or AMAIM?
Non-Bandai mecha kits? (Kotobukiya and other 3rd party studios)
Bandai kits that aren’t Gundam or mecha related, like Figure Rise?
Mecha girls?
Anything else?
I think more traditional models like cars and military kits would be too far out of scope, unless related to one of the above categories, if people want to see those posted.
What say you all? Should we do a poll?
Just to throw this out there: the Figurise Standard Avatar Fumina, which engineering-wise is straight-up just a 30MS kit, is officially also Gunpla (the lore is that Fumina Hoshino browbeat “a certain KANSAIJIN BUILDER” into helping her design an avatar for Gundam Build Metaverse, and then he went and made it an actual Gunpla kit without permission). So at least as far as Bandai is concerned, the lines are already blurred anyway.
More generally, I’m fine with any posable model kit being allowed. Basically, if the description includes “action figure model kit” or something similar.
Yeah, I know there are some Gundam-themed Figure Rise kits (they’re even allowed in GBWC), but I worded it that way because of things like Dragon Ball, Kamen Rider, etc.
I would be willing to say so long as it is mecha or at least anime adjacent. I would even be open to Jurassic park models, but I agree that I don’t want to come here and see a 64 Impala or the USS Kittyhawk (even if it’s in azure lane)
This is just a thought, but something like having a specific day of the week for non-Gundam models might be a good solution.
Though, I definitely think scale models should be in their own dedicated community.
