    I have a similar kind of firewall in my home network it really makes internet use much better. it only seems drastic if you are dependent or addicted to the use of the us tech company services from alphabet, meta, amazon etc.

        I either block stuff via a PiHole on my home network and/or the hosts file in Linux/Android. I just compiled a few good lists from github that block almost all US tech sites completely, not only amazon for example but all aws servers etc. Its more of like a fun tinkering bc I was bored, blocking aws servers also causes issues with steam cloud for example bc a vast amount of services use these tech giants’ servers for their services.

          lol fair. thanks for the reply. I’m trying to set something up preemptively to stop my kid for accessing social media and porn and the like.
