Is anybody out there ?
Well day three of courses. Today is working at heights. On Monday when I was doing a different course I saw what I’m in for. Wearing a safety harness, hooking up to ropes and things and climbing ladders n stuff. Lol. I used to build scaffolds by myself and then “run” up the outside of them. No harnesses, no safety gear. A few weeks ago I was helping a mate at his house. We were on the top of a scaffold, no hand rails and just one plank.
Heck when I was a new apprentice (16) I used to walk across girders in chemical plants pulling a big cable. Oh that was in the middle of winter and I would have to kick snow or ice off the girder before taking the next step. No safety gear in sight. Aaaah the good ole days when a life was cheap…
Back to work tomorrow hopefully for a rest. Have a lovely day.

Do you still have that cranky teacher from yesterday?
Cranky pants was Monday. Yesterday was a different part of the same course and we had an awesome teacher. Down to earth, casual enough but still got the info across. He made the day nice enough. I thanked him at the end of the day and said it has been great to meet him.
