    If I had to guess, it plays out like this.

    • Refugees are taken in.
    • The host country does the bare minimum to support them.
    • Poverty ensues and petty crime amongst a small subset of people in the poverty stricken refugee camps start.
    • Western media blows it out of proportion.
    • Now here we are acting like it’s a huge problem.

    Don’t take that as fact, it’s just my vibes based analysis based on how we normally see rich western countries demonize immigrants in general.

      That’s been the European model for as long as I can remember. Do a fraction of what the bare minimum should be, then have the media clutch their pearls when the intentionally built ghetto produces the things ghettos are intended to produce: crime and violence. Then act like that’s why Those People are inherently violent in their DNA or skull shape or some bullshit.
