Jonathan Hall KC, the independent reviewer of state threat legislation, is due to report this week on using counter-terrorism laws against state interference.
I thought surely this title is an exaggeration but it’s literally that bad. Anything that questions the status quo about anything, or just exists outside the majority, should be treated as a threat to national security.
Also, extremely disingenous that the state calls this guy, who is both appointed and then employed by the Home Office, an independent reviewer. They’re incetivised to chose someone with whatever values and priorities matches their own, which makes it extremely concerning this is the kind of guy they went with.
