Just met hambams vet at the dog park. Lovely lady and very hard core knew her shit and doesn’t suffer fools that’s for sure. Had a nice long walk and chat with her around the park. Convo got surprisingly personal. She invited me back to her practice up the road, had some champagne w/ her and her assistant and got some great tips on hambam.

Offered me use of her clinic to leave the dog there and for training whenever I need if I need to go help my mum.

    So random.

There are kind souls out there but I was not expecting that.

I’ve finally figured out how to get Gibson to go where I want her to.

I move to the room and close the door.

    BOOM!

2 seconds later she’s going nuts for me to open the door for her lol

I’ve got this bacterial rash either as a result of how sick I’ve been , or along side it. My skin feels so dry and gross. I feel like either an unmasked Deadpool without the healing factor or the infected guy in a zombie movie that tries to hide it and spreads it around the office.

If ya’ll are delaying the dentist piece of advice: a cleaning regularly can prevent a filling. Ask me how I know. Also if your yet to do a will please consider this an order to go get that done ASAP.

I do have a dentist appt scheduled in less than a month but I’m dreading it because I have NOT, despite repeated pleading from my dentist, been flossing regularly let alone using an electric toothbrush like I said I will. I might push the appt back a bit depending on when I wrap up uni so I can try and make up for bad dental hygiene a bit (I know that’s not how it really works, sigh).

I signed up to be on organ donor lists and get do not resuscitate orders back when had just passed 18, but I haven’t yet done a will because I have fuck-all to leave behind anyway tbqh. I’ll definitely get one drafted if/when I buy my own place, some day in the murky future.

Those floss piks help a lot. (The green Allsmiles ones are the best ones.) Having a packet next to my bed means it gets done.

Wills are replaceable. You can make one set of choices now, and change your mind later and make a new Will. This is actually recommended if you have significant lifestyle/situation changes - eg. retirement or divorce or serious illness. If cost is holding you back, some Will providers do a cheapie basic version that can be suitable for say, next 10 years or so. That buys you time to do serious estate planning.

That’s actually really good to know. I’ve got a complex family situation and keep getting hung up on making the ‘right’ choices. Even doing a shorter-term basic one is actually a really good idea

PO Will kits are very very basic. If your situation and requirements are more complex than ‘everything to X’, then you really do need to at least talk to a professional. Also, it’s very easy to invalidate your Will due to inadequate signing and witnessing. Signing and witnessing requirements are same for Will kits as for professionally drawn up Wills. Invalidation means that the Will is ineffective.

Ah damn. I don’t own any property or stocks and have no kids so it might be adequate… basically I planned for Melbcat to go to someone and they would get my remaining money to care for her.

Not sure I have the means to discuss with a professional

Tim Wilson is 128 votes ahead with only 86 envelopes left to count; Zoe can’t win on indicative preferences but (a) let’s see what the formal distribution of preference yields, and (b) CAN THE MARGIN GO BELOW 100!!! In which case it’s more likely that the AEC would do a recount… though I still think it’d need a total fluke/miracle for Zoe to retain her seat.

First the Liberals get utterly trounced in the elections, now the Nationals are actually deciding to leave the coalition! Well well well. What a year for Australian politics. This will make passing legislation even more interesting… will the Liberals survive being reduced to 28 pathetic seats across the entire country?

Personally I’d love to see country Australia wake the fuck up but these nuclear-touting ass-backward idiots look set to stay for a while. Maybe this breakup could be good for the Liberals to regain some respectability

I was thinking about this when I saw the news. Now is the best time for them to split since they’re both so politically insignificant. It won’t make any difference and they’ll probably all vote the same way. They’ll probably get back together in a few terms when the libs seem electable again.

Well, this might be a wildcard but I’d like to see the Liberals start to follow more in the line of the Teals and importantly, stay that way to win back more seats. In which case the Nationals will either hold onto their ideals and become increasingly politically irrelevant, or be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century in order to form a coalition with the reformed Liberals.

I’m loving the idea of the Libs as a minor party. Some consequences for the 2 party preferred system though - Anthony Green or young Mr Briggs will have to generate a whole new set of statistics …

I suppose it becomes an issue with the 2PP system where the Nats and Libs both contest a seat which is generally quite rare, I think? I would expect that even as separate parties they’ll agree not to fight each other on the same turf too much as they wouldn’t want to split the vote and have (shudder) some other party win.
