They should have given him the chance to compete to the end in 2016 rather than forcing him to step down. But they would rather watch America’s standing as a democratic republic crumble than see an administration where corporations make any less money.

My wife voted for Hillary over Bernie in the 2016 primaries because she was a woman. No other reason. I was furious.

I’ll never understand the “we want old wealthy white men out of politics!” Then cheering for Bernie.

Biggest issue with Bernie is he’s a loser. He can’t win even the support of democrats, let alone the country. He has accomplished so little considering how long he’s been around. He’s got great ideas but has no idea how to succeed or work with anyone. I would much rather someone younger with charisma who can indeed win the presidency.

Nothing I’ve said has been anything but fact but I’ll get downvoted, because Bernie bros are a cult and can’t take the truth.

The left needs young winners, forget about the old career politicians on all sides

Bernie isnt wealthy… I mean he is more wealthy most americans. He’s basically as wealthy as doctors, engineers, or other high paying professions are for his age.

And of course he aint popular with democrats. Because he aint one. His politics are in opposition of neoliberalism.

You’ve obviously never looked into him or his policies.

All his policies have broad support. Democrats poll even lower than the least popular President in US history.

          2016 he was screwed, sure.

But in 2020 he lost fair and square. He couldn’t win even among the Democrats. Saying this as someone who went and voted for him in that year in the primary.

For as popular as he is he didn’t win when he could’ve. I think people just don’t want to admit that no matter how individually popular he is or how well those policies poll that America won’t vote for him or it. Either due to apathy or laziness or stupidity or whatever.

I’d love to be wrong but that appears to be the conclusion.

Yeah, curious how he didn’t “win” the nomination, despite polling better than Hilary or Donald.

Because the democrats don’t like him. Which is my point. How can he win the country when he can’t even win the democrats? He can’t. You may not like it but it’s a fact, unless you’re living in a n alternate universe where he was actually the nominee. Otherwise you’re just getting mad at me stating facts, which is why I say anyone who is still talking about Bernie in 2025 is a cultist. Facts make you mad, the fact that he’s like 90 and I mention it makes you mad. Everything outside the Bernie bubble makes you mad = cult

I don’t want the DNC to like him, because the DNC are in corporate pockets just like everyone else. I wanted the chance to vote for him regardless of what the DNC thinks.

I, like many others, would very much have preferred that the DNC not pool their resources to campaign against him, specifically because of why the DNC doesn’t like him.

Sanders was on course to potentially win in 2016, then he threw in the towel because it would supposedly help Clinton. I haven’t taken him seriously since.

That’s a pretty creative take on it. Sanders WON the primary over Hillary Clinton and the DNC promptly disqualified him and put Hillary in his place. He didn’t throw in the towel. The candidacy was stolen from him. He was stolen from us. I haven’t taken the DNC seriously since.

There is simply no way the powers that be would’ve allowed it. They allow him his “platform” because it effectively rounds people they might deem “interesting” up so they can better surveil them. If there was ever a real chance of him getting closer to power he would’ve been JFK’d immediately. I’m still not convinced that isn’t the plan for AOC, but ofc I hope I’m wrong.
