It’s also such a great illustration of material conditions having primacy. The reason AI is primarily focused on chat bots and generative art in the west is precisely because there’s nothing else it can be meaningfully applied to. Meanwhile, China’s massive industry vastly broadens the space of potential applications for this tech.

I still remember the struggle session we had on here a little while back. Reactionary thought on AI turns out to be prevalent even in Marxist spaces in the west.
It is further evidence of why a scientific vanguard rooted in dialectical materialism is so important.
