The project aligns with the nation’s broader push to upgrade traditional industries with AI and other advanced technologies.

(Redacted - the snark about reactionary artisans with regards to AI wasn’t contributing towards anything. Seriously, socialist led automation is awesome - good share!)

It’s also such a great illustration of material conditions having primacy. The reason AI is primarily focused on chat bots and generative art in the west is precisely because there’s nothing else it can be meaningfully applied to. Meanwhile, China’s massive industry vastly broadens the space of potential applications for this tech.

        Very much this^.

It is very telling negative perceptions of AI in the West vs the positive perceptions elsewhere especially from socialist countries. This recent thread is what I originally referenced to: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/7917393/6395342

I still remember the struggle session we had on here a little while back. Reactionary thought on AI turns out to be prevalent even in Marxist spaces in the west.

It is further evidence of why a scientific vanguard rooted in dialectical materialism is so important.
