In the midst of the recent issues and drama related to Feddit.org I have recently created a replacement to the Europe community which is hosted on Feddit. For people who still want access to a Europe community even though quokk.au has defederated feddit I suggest checking out !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com. It’s not as big but I hope with time it can grow and become more active. If you have any interest I urge you to check it out.
what happened with feddit.org?
One of their communities began removing posts and banning users critical of Israel and speaking against the genocide, and the Admins recently made their own post doubling down on the pro-Zionist censorship. A user from quokk.au made a post in YPTB and the admin of quokk.au saw it and defederated feddit.org in response.
Unless the host is extremely wealthy and powerful on the world stage, it’s either that or wipe the instance; this player is a pawn and easily sacrificed by tpb/ptb. If it were say, Microsoft, it would be a bit different. M$ is a queen and can move any direction, making what seems to be a dumb move a win for the world in a few more strategic moves.
