• this is the kind of ongoing story that my boomer ass parents will be completely “blindsided” by when they get some discount on no-refund flights connecting through Newark and think it’s because they are genius consumers and not because 95% of connections are gonna be blown, the comped hotels will all be full or overpriced with hundreds and hundreds of people sitting on a plane in the tarmac with no A/C because leaving the engines off saves on fuel costs.

    they are routinely surprised that “successful” companies completely, knowingly fuck over their workers and customers for a nickel and that spending hours upon hours on the phone with someone in customer service never leads to any resolution.

    The biggest surprise to me in this whole thing is that it took this long for Newark to fall apart.

    It’s been a shit show for years and I’m amazed they made it through the 2010s without coming to a grinding halt like this.
