People love to cope that way. Harris was unpopular not just because she oversaw a genocide as vice-president and advocated for its continuation, but also because she chased after the mythical moderate republican voters.
People need to stop arguing against material reality for the sake of political expediency. I know it would be nice if Palestine really was the reason she Kamala lost. But it wasn’t and you can’t removedthe democrats into believing it.
Maybe I’m libposting when I say this, but having 100,000 less people openly hating you probably brings you more than 100,000 votes - imagine how many people would’ve campaigned for Kamala if she set Gaza as a red line and kept everything else the same!

While I was at the gym I saw some clips of Fox News ragging on him for going on the View to brag about how he would’ve won, typically hate that they have that and CNN on 24/7 but it did make me laugh this time. PA would be a lot closer and maybe those people would be more activated to get others to vote. Enthusiasm has a spreading effect like that sometimes. But even with that cope, NC still looks like a lost cause. And of course there’s no way to know if PA would translate that way, I still suspect it would be a loss for her.

The campaign exceeded its goal of 40,000 total write-ins for President in the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary with 60,724 total write-in votes.
Over 120,000 registered Democrats withheld their vote from Joe Biden in the April 23, 2024 Presidential Primary Election.

There’s still the unknown unknowns of how many people were opposed to the genocide but didn’t bother voting in the primary and how many people voted uncommitted but ended up pulling the lever for Harris anyway.
My bet is it wasn’t enough to change the election outcome but the simpler story here is that the democrats took the most cowardly possible route and still lost the election.
